This Husqvarna toy chainsaw is the type of gift that kids seem to fall in love with immediately. After all, what kid doesn’t imagine themselves doing the things their parents do — in this case, cutting wood around the home. My guess is that you’re probably a Husqvarna fan already if you’re reading this review, and you probably own a real husqvarna chainsaw yourself.
I included this Husqvarna toy chainsaw in my extensive article on the best toy chainsaws for kids but I decided to feature this particular toy as it deserved its own spotlight on it. It’s a cool toy indeed. The first thing that attracted me to this toy is the realistic style and design. It actually looks like the real thing. It also has the 440 moniker on it, based on the styling of the real-life 440 Husqvarna gas chainsaw.
Husqvarna Toy Chainsaw | Cool Features
There are many unique features on this toy that immerse children into the experience of using a chainsaw. First, the chain rotates when you turn it on which is very cool, and as we know, kids love things that move — I know I did when I was a kid. Also, this Husqvarna toy chainsaw makes realistic sounds, including idle sounds when your child takes their finger off the trigger.
Some parents think the sound is too loud but it really depends on how sensitive you are. Some people get annoyed when people whisper so it’s hard to judge who will find the sound overwhelming. Either way, hopefully you’ll encourage your child to spend time outside with it — especially when it’s sunny outside.
This toy is safe for kids and meets all required toy standards for the United States. Designed for kids three years old and up. It’s obviously very lightweight, weighing 1.5 lbs. It’s on the small side so you might want to measure it out just so you’re not surprised when it arrives. The dimensions are: 13.8″ x 4.7″ x 5.9-inches.
As with any electronic toy, batteries are required, but luckily Husqvarna has included the 3x AA batteries with their toy chainsaw. I wish more companies would provide batteries in the box. Nothing worse than taking a toy home for your child and not having the batteries lying around the house to enable them to play with it. It’s annoying, that’s all.
My only criticisms of this Husqvarna toy chainsaw is that the pull start isn’t actually interactive, meaning it’s just for decoration. It’s a small thing that your child probably won’t care about but you should know before making your buying decision.

This is a simple toy with some nice touches that encourage your child to go outside and play, as well as stimulate his or her creativity and imagination. Contrary to what some people may think, I believe that girls will also enjoy this toy. Maybe spray paint it pink and she’ll like it a little more.
Either way, kids love this Husqvarna toy chainsaw. It’s a unique gift. It’s well-made, although don’t expect to survive constant abuse — it’s made of plastic. Hopefully your child knows how to care for her toys.
Overall this is a nice inexpensive gift that will make your child’s friends envious, and if you have your own Husqvarna gas chainsaw you child can pretend to cut trees beside you as you’re outside working for real.
