8′ x 7′ Tremont | Recommended Resin Storage Shed.
Normally, wooden and steel sheds are a lot more solid than their resin cousins. It’s actually one of the big differences between them. If you have a tough shed it’s unlikely to be damaged in extreme weather conditions. Luckily, after you’ve put the finishing touches to your Suncast Tremont it will be just as strong. It’s been constructed using steel reinforced double-wall resin. The roof is reinforced with a metal truss system to ensure there are no weak links in the chain.
The Suncast Tremont roof comes with another cool feature you’ll love. Thanks to 4 skylights you won’t be forced into installing a lighting system inside your shed. You’ll be able to see fine when it’s bright outside. You will need lights if you want to find anything when it’s dark, but at least the skylights will allow you to save energy.
Do you think the best resin shed should be even greener? There are ways to fit guttering to plastic sheds without damaging them. Once it’s fitted you’ll be able to set up a rainwater harvesting system in less than an hour. If there is enough rain to keep the barrel full you can care for your garden without wasting precious fresh water.

Unlike heavier sheds, you won’t need to build a foundation for your Keter Store-It-Out MIDI. It only needs to be placed on level ground, so it won’t take a lot of work to set up. Larger Shed : 6 ft. x 8 ft. : Keter Manor 6x8DD : (213413)
The Keter Manor resin storage shed has a lot in common with wooden models. Some way wooden sheds are more attractive, which is sometimes true. This particular model has been designed to look like it’s constructed using wood, but there is one difference you’ll notice after a few years. Wood tends to discolor over time because it’s affected by sunlight, whereas the Keter Manor is UV-resistant and will last the distance without losing its beautiful finish.

Most people won’t be able to assemble wooden and metal sheds themselves unless they have lots of DIY experience. Thankfully, plastic sheds are usually much easier to piece together. Advantages of Resin Sheds
When you’re looking for a storage shed it’s possible you’ll turn your attention towards one made from wood or steel. After all, they’re classics that homeowners have been enjoying before you were born. That doesn’t mean the best resin shed isn’t superior. You just don’t know what quality plastic sheds have to offer, so we’re going to discuss some of the main reasons you should buy one:
- Extremely Cheap
- Weather Resistant
- Effortless To Maintain
- Aesthetically Pleasing
- Light Enough To Move
- Extra Long Life Span
Extremely Cheap – Nothing beats having lots of storage space in your garden, but I doubt you want to spend a ton of money acquiring it. If you look around it won’t take you long to realize even the best resin shed you find is pretty cheap. On the other hand, take a look at wooden sheds and the price will give you heart palpitations. It makes sense because quality wood is always going to be more expensive than plastic or metal.
Weather Resistant – Manufacturers will treat wood before it’s turned into a storage shed, but what do you think is going to happen in the long term? Eventually, it’s going to become susceptible to rot. After a few years the rain will begin to eat away at it. Don’t forget insects could start devouring it first. Resin sheds will be able to handle all the rain you can throw at them without rotting or becoming an insect meal.
Metal sheds won’t turn into food after being battered by rain for a prolonged period of time, but they do begin to rot in their own special way. I’m sure you’ve seen rusty sheds in the past. Not only do they look like they’ll collapse at any moment, but they’re well past the point of preventing water from getting inside.
Rust, rot, and insects are huge downsides you’ll come up against if you opt for a wooden or metal shed. There is another problem that isn’t quite as disastrous. Neither of them will be able to handle UV rays from the sun particularly well. Modern resin sheds won’t look like you’ve painted them a horrible color after a few summers in your garden.
Effortless To Maintain – Some people say this is the best thing about owning the best resin shed. Can you imagine all the work you’ll need to carry out on wooden and metal sheds after everything we’ve just talked about? If you have a resin shed in your garden there will be no need to spend ages repairing it. These kind of storage sheds are simple to maintain from week to week. You’ll only need to wipe it with a wet cloth to make it look brand new again. If it’s really dirty there are other simple solutions, which we’ll talk about later on.
Aesthetically Pleasing – Ignore anyone who tells you resin sheds don’t look magnificent. Do they look better than wooden sheds? It depends on the specific model in question, but even if they don’t you can’t say plastic sheds are unattractive. It’s a label they picked up in the past and they’re finding it hard to shake. These days, great plastic sheds look like something that has jumped straight out of a fairytale. They even have decorative windows and 100 percent realistic roofs.
Light Enough To Move – You can break this down into a couple of different categories. Firstly, you’ve got smaller resin sheds you’ll be able to move fairly easily without disassembling them. Even if you need to ask for help it will only take you a few minutes to move them from one side of the garden to the other. You can move much bigger sheds too. They are lighter than wooden and steel sheds of equal size.
Sadly, it’s likely you’ll need to break them down first. It’s not exactly difficult because resin sheds are easy to disassemble and put back together again. Try doing that with any wooden or metal shed and it will lead to an absolute disaster. I don’t know why you’d want to move a resin shed once it’s in position, but at least you know it’s possible.
Extra Long Life Span – Some of the resin sheds we’ve looked at come with a 10-year guarantee. Manufacturers don’t offer guarantee that run out when their storage sheds are ready to fall apart, so expect them to last much longer than a decade. It’s a pretty good deal considering how cheap they are.
Uses & Applications of Resin Sheds
Homeowners with great imaginations come up with wonderful ways to use garden sheds. Do you already know what you’re going to do with yours? Once you’ve picked up the best resin shed you can do anything with it even if you already have something in mind. Let’s discuss a few ideas that might interest you in case you want to pick up a spare one while you’re at it:
- Gardening Tools
- Personal Space
- Swimming Pool
- General Storage
- Various Animals
- Waste Disposal
Gardening Tools – Most homeowners will store their tools inside a garden shed. You’ll be able to hang shovels from the walls and keep smaller tools on shelves. If you have any big appliances like leaf blowers, lawn mowers, and chainsaws you’ll be able to keep them stored away too. Also, some people decide to grow certain vegetables in resin sheds.
Personal Space – Guys will be able to turn a large resin shed into the ultimate man cave where they can let off steam. If anyone in your family works from home you can turn the shed into an office. It could also be used as a mini workshop, gym, paint studio, or warehouse. I’m sure you’ll be able to come up with even more fantastic suggestions.
Swimming Pool – Some homeowners are lucky enough to have a gigantic swimming pool in their back garden. You might let tons of people use your pool, but it doesn’t mean you want them inside your home. They’ll be able to use your shed to change into their swimming attire. You’ll obviously be able to keep all your equipment and chemicals in there too. Anyone with a pool knows how much stuff you need to keep on hand.
Please Note: You already know how to make your shed greener, but here is another idea. Fix solar panels to the roof and your guests will be able to take hot showers.
General Storage – You probably store most of your possessions in the attic or garage, but you can throw them inside a resin shed too. If you get a large one you’ll be able to store almost anything in it. Throw all your kids toys inside if they play in the garden all the time. It will keep everything in one place, plus nobody will be able to steal expensive toys when they’re walking past.
Various Animals – Maybe today is the day you’ll start raising your own chickens. You’ll be able to devour lots of eggs every morning. If you look online you’ll see examples of resin sheds being used as chicken coops. Let your dog use the shed if they’re stuck in the house while you’re at work all day. It will allow you to leave them outside where they’ll have much more fun. They can disappear into the shed when it starts to rain, plus they can slip inside if they need to escape from the sun.
Waste Disposal – Some of the best resin sheds we’ve discussed today are designed to house trash cans. One could be used to throw away your general waste and the other could be used for recycling. If you start dumping organic materials like grass, leaves, and vegetable peels inside it will turn into a lovely compost heap. While in the garden you could chop up enough firewood to last months. It would fit nicely inside a horizontal resin shed.
How To Clean A Resin Shed
We’ve already talked a little about resin shed maintenance, but we didn’t go into too much detail. You know it’s possible to clean your shed using a wet cloth, but sometimes you will need to put more elbow grease into it. For example, you might go away on holiday for a few weeks when bad weather strikes. There are about a hundred reasons why the best resin shed can become caked in debris, so let’s cover few ways you’ll be able to get it off without a fight:
- Spray Down With A Hose
- Blast With A Pressure Washer
- Use A Cleaning Solution
Spray Down With A Hose – If you really don’t want to waste time messing around you’ll be able to spray your plastic shed with a hose. It also comes in extremely useful if you find it hard to clean the top of your shed. This is usually beneficial if you have an injury that prevents you from lifting your hands above your head without feeling discomfort.
I’d recommend leaving the hose wrapped up unless you’re injured or short on time. You’ll waste a lot more water and hurt the environment. We’re already going to be experiencing extreme water shortages in a couple of decades, so don’t add to the problem because of laziness.
Blast With A Pressure Washer – Sometimes the debris will be so thick you’ll need to pull out the big guns. If you blast your resin shed with a pressure washer it should lift dirt and grime from every nook and cranny. Keep in mind, you don’t necessarily need to have it on full power to complete the job. You need to make sure you’re wearing eye protection every time you use a pressure washer. Once the water hits the storage shed it’s going to bounce back into your face. You don’t want to end up with dirt going in your eyes. If you don’t want anything going in your mouth a mask will help too.
Please Note: If you’ve read the resin shed descriptions you’ll know some models have a vent to let air circulate. Cover it up before you go anywhere near the shed with a hose or pressure water. You don’t want gallons of water finding its way inside.
Use A Cleaning Solution – If you have extra time on your hands this option will help you make tough stains vanish into thin air too. It’s great for those who don’t own a pressure washer and can’t be bothered renting one. Before you get started you’ll need to fill a bucket with warm water. You can then add one of the following:
- A Light Detergent
- White Vinegar + Washing Up Liquid
- Baking Soda
Choose one of the above and mix some in with your warm water. When you wipe down your resin shed leave the solution to soak into the dirt for a while. Once you eventually go over it again it will fall right off. There are plenty more solutions you can use depending on your individual preferences, but if you don’t have experience cleaning plastic the ones we’ve discussed will be fine.
Building A Foundation Your Shed Can Sit On
When you buy a very light resin shed it might be okay to place it on level ground. It’s crucial you don’t do that with a heavy model. It won’t take long until it looks like the Leaning Tower of Pisa. Unless you plan on charging people to visit an uneven attraction in your garden, you’ll need to build a foundation it can sit on. We’ll look at some good options and how long each one will take:
- Gravel
- Pavers
- Timber
- Concrete
Gravel – I don’t think anyone will have a hard time laying gravel. It’s not the most stable surface you’ll come across, so it’s best avoided if you buy a very heavy resin shed. Measure out where the shed is going to sit and start digging a hole in the ground. Ideally, it should be roughly 3-4 inches deep. Once it’s finished you can begin to pour gravel into the hole. You must keep bouncing on it to ensure it’s packed together tightly.
It’s hard to say how long it will take without knowing the size of your shed, but you’re looking at roughly 2 hours from start to finish. Even though it’s not the best option you might still have to go through this process, because it makes a great base for some of the other options we’re going to discuss.
Pavers – Before you do anything else you’ll need to lay your gravel base that must be level. Sprinkle some builders sand into the gravel, which will fill in small gaps. Also, once your base is complete lay a plastic sheet over everything to stop water from getting inside. If your base fills with water your gravel could end up displaced in a few years.
The next step is pretty easy, especially if you like jigsaws. Lay your pavers into position while ensuring everything is level and lined up correctly. When you’re shopping look for the biggest pavers you can find. Small pavers are much more likely to sink into the ground. It should take you an extra 2 hours to lay your pavers on top of the gravel.
Timber – You don’t need to be a carpenter to build a timber frame, but you will need to do some research beforehand. For example, if you don’t use timber designed for outdoor use you’ll run into problems. Treated cedar and pine wood are popular choices. You basically need to cut everything to size and screw it together. When the level timber frame is ready after a few hours you can lay it on top of a paved base.
Concrete – You’ll find concrete floors in massive factories everywhere you go, so it’s definitely good enough for any resin shed you throw at it. The only downside is the fact it’s pretty hard to do on your own unless you’re experienced. Therefore, we’ll just briefly mention what is involved. The builder helping you out will be able to handle everything else.
You’ll start by purchasing enough concrete (25Mpa is good) to build a base your large resin shed will sit on. It’s also important to pick up steel reinforcing mesh, which will keep everything held together tightly. Everything will take roughly 6-8 hours from start to finish. Keep in mind, it takes around a month until concrete becomes rock solid, so you’ll need to start working on it now.
Please Note: You will need to anchor your resin shed to the foundation using screws. Before you pick any up you’ll need to decide which foundation you’re going to use. This step at the end is not optional. If your shed isn’t secured it won’t have a very high wind resistance level.
It’s also crucial you don’t underestimate the importance of making sure your base is 100 percent level. An unbalanced foundation could lead to extra pressure on one side of the shed, plus it could ruin the vertical alignment of your doors.
